About [ed]Tech for the 99%
Who We Are:
[Ed]Tech for the 99% is a growing international community of parents, educators, researchers and practitioners who believe that technology in education should serve children, teachers and society—not the other way around.
The name is inspired by Feminism for the 99% by Cinzia Arruzza, Tithi Bhattacharya and Nancy Fraser. Like the authors, the initiative is less concerned with abstract debates than with exploring practical questions about the kind of education societies wish to build and have for their children—and the steps needed to get there. In this context [Ed]Tech for the 99% reflects a commitment to ensuring that educational technology is shaped by the needs of children, families and educators, not by commercial interests or technological trends.

Our Aim for This Space:
To create a trusted space where research is translated into practical understanding, where questions are welcomed, and where people from different backgrounds can learn together in support of children’s education and wellbeing.
